Nashua raises record-breaking R300 000 for children’s charities

| 11 June 2015

Leading business solutions provider Nashua has affirmed their dedication to giving back by raising more than R300 000 at the Nashua Children’s Charity Foundation (NCCF) 25th Anniversary Golf Day. The event was a resounding success with impressive corporate sponsorships, donations and a host of celebrity guests.

The golf day, held at Kyalami Country Club, was the most successful charity fundraiser held by Nashua to date. Former Proteas captain (and cricket veteran) Clive Rice and Titans cricket player Pierre Joubert showed their support for the NCCF by competing, along with 142 other golfers. As a memento to take home, each four ball (two-man team) was photographed on Nashua’s iconic Blue Couch. Teams could choose a renowned golfing destination – Augusta and Pebble Beach were among the courses – to be used as the backdrop for their Blue Couch portrait.

Despite many corporates cutting back in CSI, Nashua managed to raise a record-breaking R314 820. The funds will be used to purchase much-needed supplies for the 72 children’s organizations supported by the NCCF.

The NCCF is committed to nurturing the wellbeing of children by creating sustainable, child-friendly living conditions. The NCCF offers ongoing support to underprivileged children, in the form of food, cleaning material and toiletry donations. Opportunities for education are key to the NCCF’s mission statement – the organization also supplies stationery, school clothes and bags to needy children in townships.

The money raised from the NCCF 25th Anniversary Golf Day will go a long way in providing sustainable support for children who need it most – an extension of Nashua’s promise to provide ‘real solutions’.
