The Nashua Children’s Charity Foundation is once again honouring Nelson Mandela’s legacy on the 17th July by hosting a 67 minute party for 12 of the 71 children’s charities that we assist. We have selected those that have extensive outreach programmes and so need our support, as collectively they have more than 4000 children in their care.
The tea party commemorating the life of Madiba for our little and big guests will start at 14h30 and culminate at 15h37 with the slicing of a giant cake, and the singing of our National Anthem, by all those in the Nashua building, including our charity guests and celebrities. We are asking you all to come outside at 15h30 to join in and enjoy a piece of the green and gold cake.
With 72 children and their care-givers, celebrities, sponsors and your participation, we are going to make this a memorable event.
On Monday 6th July, 20 very large labeled boxes will be placed in the reception area ready for you to fill with linen (especially blankets), clothing (baby and up, as many of our children wear adult sizes), toys and story books (nothing broken please) and finally the very important non-perishable groceries (even as small as a packet of soup). Please add a little something when you do your own grocery shopping this or the next weekend, and also empty your cupboards of unwanted items to fill our boxes. We are all experiencing the effects of the current economic climate, but do spare a thought for all the indigent and orphaned children that the NCCF assists.
For the 6th year, the NCCF wants our charities to leave the building loaded with goods and only you can make this happen. We have Makro, Pick ‘n Pay, Dischem and Plasticland Woodmead stores, as well as Stuttafords making substantial donations on the day.
Thank you in anticipation of your support.
