NCCF visits Soweto charities 16 March 2016

The Nashua Children’s Charity Foundation (NCCF) recently visited seven charities in Soweto, to check conditions at the facilities and accept further calls for assistance.

The NCCF team received a warm welcome from the children and caregivers, and created a buzz of excitement by distributing sweet treats to the little ones.

Challenges faced
Some of the issues communicated to the NCCF team during their visit were the need for a wheelchair for a 10-year-old boy from Nkanyenzi Stimulation Centre; the replacement of 50 stolen chairs at Thembelenkosini Caregivers and transport to various schools for special needs children at the Orlando Children’s Home. The NCCF hopes to be able to assist these charities with the resources they need in the next few months.

Making strides
The NCCF team was also able to see the impact of a recently donated computer at Embizweni Day Care, and the flourishing vegetable garden at Ratanang Group for Children with Multiple Disabilities.

The foundation would like to thank Uber for transporting the team, which included dedicated volunteers Carina, Phil, Nirusha, Avesh and Johannesburg Mini Councillors.
