Nashua (Pty) Ltd has superb career opportunity for a seasoned Brand Manager. Reporting into the Chief Marketing Officer, you will be responsible for driving awareness, acquisition, and retention and deliver this through the launch of multifunctional go-to market brand marketing strategies for promotion of the brand / business within the market
PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Brand and Communications Manager will be responsible for implementing and executing strategic brand and marketing/communication plans for Nashua (Pty) Ltd and the Franchise channel. The role will be responsible for effective coaching and management of a team of marketing specialists, to deliver execution of campaigns and communications aligned to the strategic brand and marketing plans, developed by the Chief Marketing Officer.
The Brand and Communications Manager is to stay abreast of changes in assigned marketing environments to best serve the objectives of the company. The role will also be responsible for executing innovative marketing strategies that will build the Nashua brand, leading to increased awareness, relevance, and respect among our target audience.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree in discipline.
- Postgraduate degree in Marketing or Business Administration (advantageous).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a brand management role, with internal communications experienceÂ
- Global and local brand management experience essential. Multinational experience will be advantageous, and/or experience in markets outside SA.
- Thorough knowledge and practical application of marketing principles, brand, product, and service management. Experience developing and executing creative and innovative marketing concepts that heavily leverage offline and online mediums / channels in facilitating effective brand marketing programs and messages.
- Deep understanding of changing market dynamics and trends.
- In depth understanding of Integrated Marketing Communications Principles and proven track record in tactical brand plan development and execution, project tracking and reporting
- ATL, BTL, Internal Communications, social media content management execution experience
- Excellent business presentation skills in presenting to internal and external stakeholders, partners, and senior leadership.
- Ability to conceptualise, write inspiring design and creative briefs and management of agencies.
- Team management experience
- B2B, franchise marketing and/or FMCG experience would be advantageous.
- Proven track record of success in marketing
- Budget and agency management experience
- Strategic outlook and natural marketing flair
- Excellent Project Management Skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive and implement the vision and strategy for the brand and instil, drive, and implement it in all levels of the business, to make up part of the working culture.
- Understand target market segmentation and positioning, and implement appropriately across these
- Oversee the brand planning process inclusive of the definition of target consumers and the development of marketing mix and strategies on brand interaction to encourage increased purchase.
- Oversee all brand marketing activities related to the brand and collaborate with business and marketing colleagues to achieve output.
- Drive the development and refinement of the brand’s messages and creative designs to attract potential consumers.
- Drive go-to-market planning and drive cross-functional collaboration within the business, for example, with departments such as Product, Sales etc.
- Drive customer-facing communication approaches for the brand and serves as a primary marketing point of contact with the external brand business partners, enabling strong, collaborative working relationships
- Implement marketing plans and programs that encompasses all marketing segments to support the Company’s overall strategic objectives and increase revenue.
- Heighten brand awareness of the Company in the workplace, franchise channel and the marketplace.
- Execute the approved Public Relations strategy in line with business marketing objectives.
- Communicate with and review the activities of selected marketing and media agencies, monitoring effectiveness and ensuring delivery against agreed briefs and annual plan.
- Work closely with our Sales team and franchises to drive customer growth and brand awareness, identifying opportunities and staying abreast of competitor positioning.
- Manage the marketing budget monthly invoice/claims cycle linked to key deliverables. Support with forecasting and budget allocations.Â
- Measure effectiveness of the marketing campaigns and plans through monitoring the growth and acquisition of high-quality leads and positioning, consistency and market relevance of the Nashua brand and tone.
- Prepare marketing activity reports.
