A vacancy exists at Nashua Durban for a Business Development Manager reporting to the Managing Executive.
Purpose of Position:
Responsible for the management, development, and performance of all Line Managers Sales & Support roles to the Regional Sales Teams. The Primary role of the Line Manager and their teams is the support as product specialists to the Regional Sales Teams within Nashua Durban and the development of new lines of business within the existing customer base plus the expansion of the base by identifying and marketing to new clients. Specialists Products are Surveillance, Access Control Smart Solutions, Software, Telecommunications and Voice products, I.T and PC Services plus Consumables.
Establishes plans and strategizes to expand the company’s share of key customers ICT spend a by pro-actively identifying opportunities in key customers and selected markets.
It is therefore an essential requirement the candidate must have Sales experience and extensive Product Knowledge in all Lines of Business and the ability to strategize and devise improvements and upgrades to Customers Business Processes utilising the full range of Nashua’s extensive Lines of Business.
Requirements best suited to this position:
- Senior certificate, sales management qualifications.
- Minimum 5 – 8 years’ experience within the industry together with extensive product knowledge in all lines of business infrastructure and communications.
- Proven leadership and ability to drive sales.
- Management experience, which includes performance management and career development.
- Sales Methodologies and best practice knowledge.
- Driver’s License with own reliable vehicle.
- Cell Phone.
Duties: Some of which include:
- Develops a sales strategy that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
- Responsible for the selection, development and performance of Sales Personnel.
- Prepare action plans by individuals as well as the team for effective prospecting and lead generation.
- Initiate and coordinates development of action plans to penetrate new markets.
- Conduct one-on-one performance reviews with the Line Managers’ to build more effective communications, and to understand the training and development needs of the Regional Sales Teams.
- Provides timely feedback to the Nashua Durban Exco regarding potential opportunities, sales challenges and sales performance.
- Assist Regional Sales Managers and their sales teams with the preparation of proposals and presentations.
- Control expenses to meet budget guidelines.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
- Recruit, test, and hire Sales Line Managers based on criteria agreed upon by top management.
- Create new key accounts.
- Understanding the market potential.
- Understanding customer’s processes and position product correctly.
- Should take the initiative and create opportunities to drive more business from the customers.
- Readily articulate a comprehensive understanding of solutions/services offerings to a customer’s critical business issues.
- Creating and maintaining database of prospective customers.
- Create and conducts proposal presentations and RFP responses.
- Managing and maintaining a relationship with key customers.
- Resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service.
- Monitor customer preferences to determine focus of sales efforts.
Relationships and Roles:
- Ensures that all Line Managers meet or exceed all activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals and closes.
- Delegate’s authority and responsibility with accountability and follow-up.
- Sets examples for Line Managers in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skills, and work habits.
- Conducts regular coaching and counseling with Sales Managers to build motivation and selling skills.
- Maintains contact with all customers and suppliers in the market area to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrates ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.
Remuneration:
- Basic Salary plus a commission structure based on the G.P of the division and the total product purchases from Nashua (Pty) Ltd and their designated Suppliers.
