NCCF and Jet unite to clothe hundreds of children

18 October 2012, Johannesburg:- Nashua Limited’s dedicated corporate social investment arm, the Nashua Children’s Charity Foundation (NCCF), continues to honour its commitment to uplifting children with its annual shopping initiative. The NCCF will once again unite with select Jet fashion stores across South Africa in order to clothe over four hundred underprivileged and orphaned children before Christmas.

“We are delighted to once again partner with Jet as this initiative provides more than just clothes and shoes to the children – it provides a sense of importance and value for the children. Most of these children have never owned something new, something they can call their own, so you can imagine their excitement at being able to pick their own brand new outfits,” says Helen Fraser Director of the Nashua Children’s Charity Foundation.

The excursions will take place across the country for various Nashua supported children’s homes, day care centres, and selected primary schools throughout Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Nelspruit, Bethlehem, Bloemfontein and Limpopo.

The children will be hosted by their care-givers, the NCCF volunteers and a group of prominent South African celebrities including radio and TV personality Helen Desbois, heavy weight boxer Flo Simba, renowned model Kerry McGregor, musician Danny K, kwaito star Kabelo Mabelane, Kaizer Chiefs defender Morgan Gould, actresses Kim Engelbrecht and Hlubi Mboya as well as former soccer star Mark Fish, to name a few.

After their shopping spree, the group will be treated a meal from either Cassies, McDonald’s, Wimpy or Nando’s depending on the venue.
