No more squatters in the backyard; no more illegal electricity connections; no more overcrowding; no more sitting on the floor to eat meals; and no more threats from an unpleasant landlord. The housewarming party this morning for all the generous sponsors who made it happen, was a joy for the care-givers and children alike.
Thuthuzela Aid Community Centre finally has their own home. The Nashua Children’s Charity Foundation introduced the home to friends at Bowman Gilfillan and Blue Strata, who sourced additional sponsors and spent more than three years on making realizing Elizabeth Monyela and the Thuthuzela team’s dream for the orphans and the more than 60 children cared for in their day care centre.
On Saturday we hosted a housewarming for the new home, which is situated in Marlboro Gardens. This spacious and secure home is perfect for this very large ‘family’ with two full bathrooms, a kitchen for the day care children and another for the orphans, two bedrooms each for the boys and the girls, and plenty of cupboard space.
Heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this possible.
