The Nashua Children’s Charity Foundation (NCCF) treated a group of 40 children to an excursion to Sandton City on the 30th of September 2016. Most of the children in the group had never visited the iconic Johannesburg shopping centre before. The trip included a shopping experience and restaurant lunch sponsored by Jet Sandton City and Nandos.
The excitement began when the children from the Maurice Freeman Centre were handed their empty Jet shopping packets to fill. They rushed into the store to hunt for their outfits. It wasn’t long before they were showing off what they’d found and comparing their selections with their friends.
The group queued at the tills as the purchases were rung up. With their shopping bags and packets filled with sweet treats, they walked through the mall to Nandos for lunch. In minutes the children were tucking into Nandos burgers, chips and juices. Every child also took home a large goody bag from Nandos.
The NCCF extends a huge thanks to the team of volunteers from Edcon, The Angel Network, Epic and Nashua. The NCCF also thanks Helen Desbois and Kabelo Mabelane for helping ensure the children enjoyed a memorable start to their school holidays.
