On the 30th of November, The Nashua Children’s Charity Foundation (NCCF) took 120 children from MC Kharbai School to visit the Montecasino Bird Garden, in commemoration of World Aids Day on the 1st of December. Welcomed by Costa and his team, the kids were delighted when they saw the Mugg & Bean stand.
The group went through the magnificent gardens and were exposed to bird and reptile life. They were enthralled and made animal signs and sounds. After the bird show – which had the children glued to their seats – they were treated to petting a Burmese python, other reptiles and a photo opportunity with an owl. Four children also excitedly donated R10 each to Russel the Crow.
The Bird Garden was set up especially for the MC Kharbai group, with a wonderful playground, jumping castles and slush machines. After the activities, the children were treated to a delicious lunch, popcorn, ice-cream, candy floss and gift bags. The excited children were in party mode while Mangwanani Spa treated the adult care-givers to a neck and shoulder massage.
It was a day to remember. A special thanks to all the sponsors, including the Flamingo Café and Magic Company.
