As the year draws to a close, we are reminded of the generosity of our sponsors and the tireless work of our Nashua Children’s Charity Foundation volunteers as the Thank You letters from our assisted charities start to come in. In the spirit of giving thanks that comes in abundance around the festive season, we want to look back on the generosity of our sponsors over the year and the difference they have made to the children in the charities that are assisted by the NCCF.
Thanks to the generosity of Pick n’ Pay Woodmead and Bidvest Walton’s for their discounts on NCCF purchases of BACK TO SCHOOL stationery, uniforms, school bags and educational supplies which has supported the NCCF assisted children in their educational and life skill needs, making it possible for them to improve their educational circumstances. The Bidvest Walton’s BACK TO SCHOOL Boxes make a difference to almost 250 of our assisted children every year.
A special thank you must be said to our partners Dischem Woodmead, Pick n’ Pay Woodmead and Makro Woodmead. Dischem Woodmead’s contribution of defect/damaged stock has gone a long way in ensuring that the littlest of the children supported by the NCCF have access to essentials such as baby diapers. Makro Woodmead’s continuous support of the NCCF makes our monthly grocery shops possible. Their contribution goes a long way in enriching the quality of lives for the charities supported by the NCCF by ensuring that their basic needs are met. And as one of the NCCF’s biggest donors, Pick n Pay Woodmead donates huge quantities of sell by date produce, clothing, linen, nappies and household goods to the organisation as well as sponsoring the annual Mandela Day party.
Without the generosity of our sponsors, our children would not be able to experience the joy of day trips to Gold Reef City, Sun City, the Valley of the Waves, Pilanesberg National Park, a sightseeing tour around Johannesburg’s greatest attractions, a spectacular World Aid’s day at the Montecasino Bird Gardens and four amazing lunch parties at Nandos.
We would also like to thank our sponsors Uber and Jetline. Uber’s contribution and support goes a long way in assisting the NCCF in transporting our teams on the monthly visits to the charities assisted by the NCCF. Jetline continues to support the NCCF through their generous contribution towards the NCCF’s printing needs.
This year the generosity of our major funding partners – Ricoh International, Quince Capital Finance, Lifestyle Galaxy, DSV, CBI and Nashua Limited and its franchise network, has made a tremendous difference in ensuring the success of the NCCF in making sure that each of the children in our assisted charities have decent living conditions and food in their tummies.
Thanks must be said to our NCCF appointed builder for making a difference to the lives of our selected charities by addressing their renovation needs and improving their quality of living.
Last but not least, thank you to the tireless efforts of our NCCF volunteers who give freely of their time to ensure that our charities are stocked with groceries, toiletries, cleaning materials and educational toys. Not to mention the outstanding efforts thrown into the packing and loading of parcels on all our special days such as Mandela Day. We would not be able to make it through the mad rush of the monthly Makro grocery shops and packing without the efforts of our volunteering team. Without our NCCF team, none of what we do for our children would be possible.
It takes a village to raise a child and it takes a network of generous partners to enable the NCCF to uplift the charities supported by the organisation. Each and every one of our partners’ contribution this year has made an immense difference to the childrens’ lives and to ensuring that no child supported by the Nashua Children’s Charity Foundation goes to bed hungry. We thank you for your dedication and generosity this 2019.
