The Villa of Hope children were treated to a bus trip to The Valley of Waves at Sun City. A group of polite and well behaved youngsters waited eagerly to rush into the waves as they were being slathered with sun block and fitted life jackets on to the little ones. A few apprehensive youngsters held on to the adult helper’s hands, but soon realized that their life jackets really worked and very soon were swimming unaided.
The older girls and boys headed into the depth on tubes and of course had lots of fun on the slide and rides thanks to Nashua’s financial director, Robin and his mate Dave joining in the dare devil activities. The Steers team were once again exceptionally quick and professional in supplying everyone with a hearty lunch on the beach. This was followed by ice creams for all before it was time to break camp and head back to the bus for the long journey home.
A huge thank you also goes to Dean Naidoo from Nashua North East who ensured that there was plenty of “padkos” on the bus for the journey to and from Sun City. The children were also delighted with the gifts they received from Coke. We thank Natalie Kirby, Sun City’s Public Relations manager for arranging such a special day for the children.
