It was “please can we visit the zoo again” as 150 smiling children said their goodbyes to us at the Johannesburg zoo on Saturday 4th December.
Such a special way to see out a very busy year for The Nashua Children’s Charity Foundation when we hosted Abangani Enkosini, Bankekeleni, Fountain of Love, Orlando Children’s Home and Ubuhle Bezwe to a day of fun at the zoo. On arrival everyone received cupcakes and a juice then we all went to an exciting animal demonstration. Much of the morning was spent walking around to see all the caged animals. The lunch was provided by Nandos, which was followed by ice cream. Thereafter Father Christmas arrived and he handed out very large goody bags to each child and their delight at opening their gifts resounded through the zoo. They received clothing, shoes, toys, stationery, sweets, juice bottles and more.
We bade farewell to all the children and their care-givers who will most certainly have many happy memories of this awesome treat.
