Cheered on from the dugout by the first winner in the 13th Man competition, Hendriette Laesecke, the Nashua Titans defeated the Cape Cobras in spectacular fashion on 28 February at Sahara Park, Willowmoore in Benoni.
Hendriette is the first of five lucky winners to win an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join the talented boys in blue in the dugout pitchside at one of their home games during the Ram Slam T20 Challenge. “I am a huge cricket fan and my blood is always blue,” said a thrilled Hendriette before she prepared to accompany the mighty Nashua Titans onto the field.
Proudly sponsored by Nashua, the current domestic champions trounced the Cape Cobras by six wickets to give them their second win in the Ram Slam T20 Challenge. In a low scoring match, the Cobras set a target of 117, which the Nashua Titans reached with eight balls to spare. Ethy Mbhalati bowled with pace and control and returned figures of two for 15 while Albie Morkel took two for 14. Jacques Rudolph took 49 runs off 56 balls.
“It was a wonderful experience for Hendriette on and off the field,” said Dave Hallas, Marketing Director, Nashua. “After meeting the whole squad, she put on her team shirt and accompanied the players into the middle of the pitch for the coin toss. She is a huge fan and it was an exciting game which she shared blow for blow alongside her heroes in the dugout.
“We still have to draw four more winners and all you have to do is download the Nashua Titans App from your Apple or Android App Stores, or go to NashuaTitans.mobi, click on the 13th Man icon and register to win. It could be you! Fans at the game also stand a chance of winning a Nashua Biz-in-a-Box, which includes an HP laptop and desktop multifunctional printer or being exclusively upgraded to the Nashua VIP box for the duration of the match.”
