Hikvision’s 2-wire video intercom is the ideal upgrade to your old doorbell system

As time goes by, you’ll have to update and upgrade many parts of your property. Your door intercom is no exception. Your current system may work, but they may not be as efficient as they used to be and they may prevent you from improving access control at your premises.

As the demands placed on visitor management intensify, more innovative intercom systems emerge. This means an upgrade is becoming an increasingly unavoidable consideration for property owners.

Unfortunately, a door intercom replacement can mean two things: You need to be prepared to spend some serious cash, and you need to be patient; this is because some upgrades require that the wiring be replaced and the patch holes in the walls — which can be an inconvenience for tenants or employees.

This makes installing a new door intercom system seem like a major hassle. However, with Hikvision’s 2-wire video intercom system, this process is rather simple and requires little to no effort on behalf of you or your service provider. There is no need for extensive cabling or large amounts of time on site. Thanks to the system’s plug-and-play capability, it can easily be connected to existing wirings for power, audio, video and control signal transmission.

With minimal steps required to get the new system running, your business can have a fully functional video door intercom in an afternoon. The speed and simplicity with which these devices can be installed makes it less-disruptive to people entering and exiting the doorway.

How the 2-wire video intercom system works

Hikvision’s 2-wire video intercom system is an effortless way to convert your analogue system into an IP video intercom.

The system includes an external call terminal connected to a 7-inch touch screen internal station via a distributor (connected to the power supply) and wireless internet network. These enable you to see or hear who is at the front door before granting them access.

On approaching your building, visitors make a call by pressing a button or dials a number at the external panel. The terminal is equipped with a 2 MP, WDR, night vision fisheye camera that delivers vivid video images. It also comes with a speaker and receiver monitor that transmits high-quality audio.

Not only is the system easy to install but it also offers simple controls and a user-friendly interface. The monitor has a door unlock control option. If you press the button, the door’s electric lock opens the door for your visitor to gain access. You can opt to deny visitors access.

Since the system is fully internet-enabled, you can view, talk, and open the door via a smartphone even if you are not on the premises. The video intercom systems can also be integrated with CCTV and alarm systems for an added security layer to keep your property safe.
