We are nearing year end and many children are starting to think about their Christmas wish list. But for some children, Christmas gifts and cheer comes from the generosity of others.

As part of their commitment to bettering the lives of underprivileged children, the Nashua Children’s Charity Foundation (NCCF) has partnered with Jet Stores to treat 500 children to an early Christmas shopping spree. The children, from across the country, were spoilt for the day. They went to a Jet store to pick out their own Christmas outfits. After their shopping spree, the children were treated to a delicious lunch.

“Uplifting the community and helping the less fortunate is very important to us,” says Jet Club Operations Manager, Bernadette Le Cordier. “This is especially true when children are involved and we are grateful for the opportunity to make an impact.”

“Through the NCCF, Nashua continues to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most. For almost a decade we’ve witnessed the joy these Christmas shopping outings bring and this year was no different. We’re fully committed to expanding the project to reach even more children in the future,” says NCCF Operations Director, Helen Fraser.

About NCCF
The Nashua Children’s Charity Foundation provides approximately 600 000 meals per month to more than 15 000 children. The foundation also purchases groceries, cleaning material and toiletries as part of its sustainable living projects for charities. Building additions and renovations, beds, and linen are provided by the foundation to improve living conditions. School uniforms, stationery, transportation and assistance with school fees all form part of the foundation’s focus on improving the learning experience of children in need. Children from the supported charities are treated to various sponsored outings and shopping excursions.
